Hello, my name is Deyampert Giles and I am the owner of Nature Kollektiv. I am a horticulturist, designer and ISA Certified Arborist with an Associate Degree in Plant Science from Cuyahoga Community College.
Prior to my career in horticulture, I had the privilege of serving in the United States Air Force. After receiving an honorable discharged, I remained in Germany and attended the University of Maryland in Mannheim, Germany studying history, German and French.
The call of adventure took me to Australia where I would spend much of my time playing music and surfing. I eventually returned to Germany where I wrote and produced the album Shapes & Colors for the Berlin based record label Sonar Kollektiv.
After returning to Cleveland I had the opportunity to serve as a volunteer at the Shaker Lakes Nature Center. It was there that I befriended a naturalist by the name of David Wright. He was influential in my decision to pursue a career in the green industry. Unfortunately he has since passed on, but his positive impact will always remain.
I have had the pleasure and privilege of serving the community as a horticulturist at the Cleveland Botanical Garden. During my stewardship I was responsible for multiple outdoor gardens as well as the interior plants collection.
I live in the Edgewater district of Cleveland with my wife and daughter. In my free time I enjoy golf, birding and Godzilla films.
